I am a freshmen in my current year (graduate of '11) who, in all honesty, simply wants a school with a more supportive environment.
In my current public school I find that I learn little to nothing in my classes, and teachers expect us to know things that we never learned. I would like a better school, one that I can actually learn something from.

I would love to attend a private or boarding school either next year (rolling admissions) or as a repeat tenth grader the year after. My birthday is just before the cut off date, which means staying back a year would actually be fairly simple for me.

I have begun filling out the application for Hartsbrook High, which is a Waldorf day school close by. Yet, are there any New England boarding schools which are not exactly "tops" but still accepting applications, or have an open application proces? I have yet to take the SSAT or PSAT because they were not offered to the students in my grade this year at my school.

I think Hill (not New England, really, but PA) has rolling admission. Some more, too. There's another thread on this, let me see if I can find the link.

Here it is!

Thank you, very much.

I think I am going to stick it out in my school for one more year and then repeat tenth grade. Because I have my sights set on a preticular school now.

I will give you a strong warning not to get your hear set on a particular school -- admission into selective boarding schools can be tough and we had many disappointed kids this year.

Choose a range of schools to apply to -- we will be happy to give you some advice on this board.

I have a few friends who go to waldorf schools in ri

if you're looking for a structured and competitive environment, you're looking in the wrong place. waldorf is for hippies

Roses&Clovers
They are not for hippies as you commented.
