Ordering Textbooks

When would be a good time to purchase the books/when would be too late?

can i order the books from online (say ebay) and have them shipped to my campus box at school?

Yes. But if you live on South 40 there is always a huge backlog at beginning of school year. If you order textbooks first day of class, and they arrive at Wash U the first week of class, you may not be able to actually pick them up until end of 2nd week. The sooner you order and have them sent, the quicker it’s processed, and the sooner you can pick them up.

I usually order my books after the first week of class, though I’m not on South 40. Last semester 2 of my 5 classes had mistakes in the books section that is up now (I returned them to Amazon but this is probably why getting from ebay is a bad idea at this point). The only way to ever be sure of what you need is waiting until you get a Syllabus.

I’d say at least half of Wash U students buy/rent at least one textbook a semester from the campus bookstore.

If you order books at the bookstore via webstac, will you pick up for yourself or they send over to your dorm? I was about to register, but then I saw the bill to/ship to address and wondering what should I fill for the ship to?

thanks marcdvl, if i have them sent to my campus box number i assume there is somewhere on the south 40 where i can pick them up? Wheres the mail room?

First floor of Hitzman. (Southeast part of the 40)

derien: If you order books from bookstore on Webstac you just go to the bookstore and pick them up…they’ll have them all together for you.
