Oregon State University?

I have a car now, and tahts another thing I'm trying to decide wether to keep it or sell it. I love my car but I dont know if it will be a big hassle to ship it over there wherever I go for college.

You could buy a decent beater for $2,000=shipping costs. Sell it when you leave.

"barrons, from reading your posts, it is obvious you have visited a lot of college campuses. Are there any nice college towns like Ann Arbor and Madison, but with good weather?"

Berkeley?... the temperature here goes from 50F(winter) to 85F(summer).. not to mention we have some of the best restaurants in the country (some of them have very very very very very long waiting lists though) and a uber liberal attitude... like Ann Arbor and Madison... except this is probably the grandaddy of them all (free speech movement?)...

Its not like as easy as "sell it when you leave" I love my car soooooooo much I have spent so much money on it and I always love to work on it. It means SOOOOOOOOOOOOO much to me its not easy to decide what will happen to it.

Why would you ship it? Just drive it across country. However, if you do opt for San Francisco State, keep in mind that parking is very limited and expensive in San Francisco.

Because driving across the country would take forever and it would be a big hassle.

Agree, you do not need a car in San Francisco. Would your folks come with you in March on your trip? They can rent a car.

No like we barely have enuff to send me. But isn't SFSU on the outskirts of San Francisco?

San Francisco has fantastic public transportation. I think the student monthly MUNI pass is $35. Several MUNI lines run near the campus. You can be anywhere in the city in 30 minutes or less. Stonestown Galleria, a shopping center with Nordstrom and Macy's, is a few blocks north of campus. The campus is close to Lake Merced. Daly City, a suburb, is south of the campus. Yes, SFSU is in the southwest corner of the city, but I don't think the term "outskirts" is appropriate.

You can buy a MUNI map by mail for $2.50, check or money order, made payable to S.F. City and County. The address is: Muni Map, 1145 Market Street, Floor 3, San Francisco, CA 94103-1547. Take a look at the MUNI website and you can see what I'm talking about.

concerneddad, you live in Eugene? You might have seen me few times....

Anyway, Eugene has movies, malls, and restaurants but the sad thing is that's pretty much it. Even people form Siria (from Russia, very cold place) says this place is boring.

OSU is also one of my choise too, since I'm into science, and have heard OSU has a good program. I'd like to know more about that school too.
