Hi! I'm taking Organic Chemistry this fall at Hopkins, and I'm trying to purchase the textbook for it. When I go through the hopkins bookstore, it shows the "textbook with models" for over $300!
I found the same book without models used at amazon for under $100. Are the models a necessity for the class?

I have a friend who took orgo and said that without the models, it was impossible to get a grasp on the structures. So from what I've heard, get the models.

My older sister has some models, but she went to a different university and had a different textbook. Should those models be okay?

my S is also taking this class and I could not find the models on Amazon. He ended up buying everything needed for this class at the book store.

I called the Hopkins bookstore and asked them to find the book and model set. They told me the ISBN for the book, and the model set number.
It's the "Molymod molecular model set for organic stereochemistry", part number 62053.
I know this info is a bit late for you justhismom, sorry, but the set can be found at
University-College Set for Making Organic Molecule Models

You should be fine with a different set of models. I've seen a couple different model sets and they all tend to be very similar. Your colors might be different etc, but you'll be able to figure it out
