I recently got into my dream school but didn't get into the program I wanted. It was the only school I know of that even had that major so in the end it doesn't matter all that much, plus they said I could always try and do an internal transfer sophomore year.

I want to have a good back up plan if that doesn't work out though. I really want to go into political management/campaign work. Would a major in organizational sciences combined minor of political science be a good undergraduate degree for that? I've heard that communications is considered a weak degree so I'm kind of scared to do that.

Your major doesn’t matter so much in politics as your contacts and experience.

Political science, economics, pr, marketing, advertising, business, psychology, anthropology, sociology, history could all be of practical help.

Dare I suggest that Organizational Sciences is in the same league as Communications in that it’s a relatively new degree title and while it has lots of breadth it doesn’t give you enough depth in anything. I’d pick English, English Literature, Linguistics, a foreign language or Journalism over Communications.

I’m really not interested in English or language really though. Wouldn’t organizational sciences be more along the lines of management? Maybe business then? I don’t really know what a business major learns
