ORGO 307 vs. Honors ORGO 315

I'm in the honors program and registered for Honors Orgo 315 for the upcoming semster--Fall 2011.
However, I'm hearing a lot about how the format for 315 has been/will be (?) changed. Can anyone please provide me w/ any info regarding the difference between the two classes (difference between the level of difficulty, recitations, exams, quizzes, web assigns, professors).
Thanks!

Professors, Lectures, Major Exams (3), Final, Review Sessions = All the same as 307

Recitations, WebAssign/Homework = Different. There were two professors teaching different recitation sections the past year. There were four honors sections so they took two each. They probably don’t know which ones they are teaching yet, but if you’re really curious, you can try and figure it out. In these recitations, we did ChemActivites, however, depending on the survey response from this past year, they may be nixed or revised. They seemed to fall out of favor in my section in the spring semester. Different recitation instructors also decide to do different things like just hold regular recitations. You will be taking quizzes made by these instructors (in place of Webassign).

You are still allowed to go to regular recitations for extra review and do the WebAssigns as extra practice, but you’ll probably get more than enough practice material to keep you far too busy in any case.

Good luck.

koto- do you remember the grade distribution for your semester? I am just curious as when I took organic chemistry, a 30% averge earned a C.

thanks koto.
but in fall 2011, they are changing it. there will be a separate lecture for honors w/ 120 students and different professors than 307. so i was wondering if anyone has experience w/ that format as i have heard they used it sometime in the past (but not in the 2010-2011 year).

Oh. Gosh, I got the short end of the stick then. From what I’ve heard, that format was a lot easier than the regular orgo course - due to professors, course setup, and such. Just hearsay, though.

rualam: I can’t say for the first semester what a C was, but that was most definitely not the case for the second semester. I’d venture that a 55-65% was a C.

okay, thank you, koto.
if anyone took orgo w/ the format i described, please provide any info on your experience.

im in your class…
should’ve taken regular…
but I like Seidel so I’m just gonna muscle it out
