I want to get into Finance and Investment Banking after college, which major at Cornell would better prepare/help with getting a job in that field, ORIE or AEM with a minor/double major in Biometry/Stat?

If that’s your ultimate goal, AEM hands down.

AEM for the business aspects, although you would be much better versed in higher math as ORIE. But then again, ORIE has a much different primary focus.

I’ve talked with quite a few ors in banking, all of them have collectively said that all the courses they took in orie were useless, so if youre looking get into investment banking keep that in mind. The orie degree was not meant for a person looking to get a traditional finance job.

For banking, do either AEM or Econ in A&S. Both are fine depending on your interests. It will be much harder to maintain the necessary GPA in engineering. Certainly doable, but harder. BTW, am a Math/Econ Cornell alum in banking.
