Go to Rieber Terrace to drop off stuff.
Note:
-You can use your BruinCard to enter the building
-Don't leave your calculator (for placement exam) in your luggage. Bring it with you, b/c you may not have time later to go get it
-You do not need to bring your laptop with you today, unless you're paranoid someone might steal it in your room.
-There is heavy walking on the 1st day. Don't be stupid and wear 5 in' heels or something.
-If you don't like Mexican food, bring several snacks.

Go down several stairs, in front of the Covel Commons is where you get an Orientation bag to carry items, a pen, and some papers.
Note:
-You can also get some breakfast too if you like, it's like doughnuts, orange juice, coffee, bagels etc.
-Even though your Orientation schedule says you may want to bring a light jacket as you may be out late, don't. It's freaken hot as hell and the jacket is just dead weight. At night, it wasn't even that cold (though it rained when I was ditching the Cabaret show.)

Breakfast

Then Cabaret show. (There are also late night games..)

Day 2

After day 1, I got too lazy to take any pictures.

Note:
-Foods in dining halls are awesome.
-Day 2 has relatively less walking, depending on how many workshops you attend, and if you decide to attend Carpe Noctem.

Workshops (optional- as in, you have to get there yourself), language placement and schedule planning occurs today. If you need to get in Eng 3, be prepared to not get in it.

Day 3

Enrollment in classes. Be fast!

Wellness presentation. Attend this. It's fun and interesting.

Lunch then campus tour. WARNING: Heavy walking.

Saying good byes. You'll get a planner and a calendar poster.

As a Whole:
-Brings snacks and food if you're used to more meals than 3, or just eating late/irregularly.
-Day1: heavy walking, day2: light walking, day3: heavy walking
-Plan your schedule now. It takes way longer than you think.
-Though you may not be interested in some events or presentations. They are a great way of meeting new people.

Plan your schedule now. It takes way longer than you think. <----This is very true.

Food on the first day = DISGUSTING. I thought the beans that came with the fajitas were chocolate/brownies. I almost threw up after I took a bite.

I second that Dining Halls are awesome, especially the breakfast.

Club Jamba is awesome. I don’t know why people said it wasn’t cool. Cabaret and the late night games are must-attend events. Great way to meet a lot of people. It’s really fun too.

Carpe Noctem = too tiring. If you are slow, don’t attend. You will just end up lagging your group down.

Hey silvercross I was in 103 too! Which floor were you on?

I was at 103 too!

By the way, I am a very slow runner, and slowed my group down…but…we/I still won the sweatshirts! Go to Carpe Nocten, you may be in a world of pain for a few days…but it is all worth it when you get free stuff!

Wow drbash, you were one of the winners? Congrats!!

I think we came in like 3rd? lol

Oh yeah guys, wake up early on the 3rd day. I was hanging out with some people until 4 am and woke up at 8:36. You have to bring you luggage to your OC’s room by 8:45 so I had like 5 minutes to pack up. I ended up leaving my laptop adapter/charger there. =[ Speaking of which, does anyone know if there is a lost&found center for past orientation students?

Bring tons of water!! Otherwise, you will need to buy them.

What time did the winners finish? We walked the whole way and got back around 1:30

@confidentiality , I was on the 7th floor room 704.You?

silvercross and I were in the same group haha :D

I wonder if there is going to be an orientation thread for each session

8D

@zmrzlina, lol, have you made your facebook yet? I have a pic of you being bruintized!

How did you know who each other were on CC?

^ zmrzlina made references to information found on CC, and I actually suspected since the first day, but didn’t really bring it up till the third because it was kinda weird.

I was surprised that the majority of people were from northern california. Our carpe noctem group was “hella socal” haha

she asked me if I knew about cc

I was 4th floor. Room 434. I hung out in the 6th floor though. My floor wasn’t very social, but 6th floor sure was!!

Yeah most people were from Bay Area. I was surprised as well. Only a few were from LA.

hey confidentiality,
i hung out mostly in the 6th floor too,
and i was up til about 4am that night too lol
maybe we’ve met? whats your name?

LOL I think we did meet. I hung out until 4am. I am Seung. I did meet couple guys named Kevin. One I remember had a twin and stayed up until late at 6th floor. Is that you?

LOL yeah i’m kevin, the guy with the twin haha. i’m the one that mostly hung out in the east lounge on the 6th floor.
haha cool seeing you here on cc. you’re going to be in sproul hall this year right?

Wait, so you were both in hella socal for carpe noctem?

Oh hey you are Kevin haha. What up man. Yeah I am in Sproul. Where were you dorming again? I actually talked to Justin quite a bit. Hehe didn’t get much chance to talk to you. It’s cool meeting someone on CC face to face haha.

Dude I sort of regret going to sleep late on the 2nd day. I slept at 3 am the first night too. I was so dead during the tour. Ended up sleeping 14 hours today haha
