Do you get your classes based on when you sign up during freshman orientation? First-come-first-serve basis? I’m in the college of engineering and no matter which dates I choose, I pretty much go last (groups 10 and 11, both in August). Does this mean I’m totally screwed for getting the classes I want because everybody else in all the other colleges already got their classes?

Thanks!

They reserve a certain amount for each sign up orientation, so being the first group does no necessarily mean they get to pick out of the entire course. This of course does not account for upperclassman who may sign up for classes even before any freshman do. But yes, among other orientation groups, you should be fine.

I was in a similar situation, you’ll be fine.

what if i’m not able to make it to orientation? i live in shanghai : ( my parents don’t really want me to fly back and forth…

then sign up on your own.
