New student summer orientation has already been announced as virtual for the University of Utah, which my S21 is considering. I feel like this is going to make it really difficult for the students to feel any sense of connection to the school or other students.

Are there any schools that have announced in person student orientation yet?

The connection to the school and other students really comes from more from living on campus, going to classes, clubs, etc. Missing an in person orientation isn’t ideal, but I think most people survived this year.

That’s a good point. This isn’t the first summer that orientations have been online. I didn’t think of it that way.
