Orientation Questions

I’m going to be attending orientation on August 12th and I was wondering what to bring? I know that the website provides list but there are somethings not mentioned. Do I need to bring a pillow and blanket? If they’re provided would you recommend using what is provided or bringing my own? Do I need to bring bed sheets? Or towels? Would you recommend I supply my own towels or bedsheets? Should I bring a robefor showers or can I change in the bathroom? Also what sort of clothing would be best to wear during orientation regarding the weather and comfort?

Sorry to ask so many questions but I couldn’t find the answers anywhere!!

@gabylucia12 My wife and I attended the orientation with our D. There were clean sheets provided along with one pillow for each bed and were actually surprised to find Towels and soap as well. Robe is a personal preference. None of us took one and it was just fine. As for clothing, check the weather before you head out. Davis can get quite hot this time of the year.

It’s going to be in the low 100s and high 90s from now to the 12th, so bring light clothing and sunscreen. I currently attend summer session here at UCD and it’s unbearably hot.

OK…do student bring wheelers etc? Where they put their clothes etc? When we check-in…do we straight away go the residence halls? Where do we put our luggage? etc?

You’ll be put into a standard dorm with a cabinet/armoire, a desk, and a bed.

@Teeta1 You are going on a 2 night trip and you are going to stay in a “Hotel”. Travel that way. Do what is comfortable for you.

Thanks! O.K well a bit offtopic but it says that we should bring our “Picture ID” issued by governent…So for that…can I bring my school ID card? It was issued by a ‘Government School’ afterall?

I don’t have driving license etc …

@Teeta1 You don’t need a DL to pick up the Aggie Card. Your High School Id with your picture in it should be sufficient.
