I’m going to stay all two nights/three days. Besides from the essentials (clothes, toothbrush…) What should/shouldn’t I bring? Also, what should I expect? I’m really nervous. :/

Here’s a link to a list of what UC Davis recommends you bring. :D

[UC Davis Orientation - Freshmen Student Items To Bring](http://orientation.ucdavis.edu/freshmen/itemstobringfreshmen.asp)

“Pencil, pen, or binder.” You can take notes with just the binder?

But seriously, bring paper and a pen. I forgot to and it was a hassle.

What should we bring this stuff in? I have one largish backpack that can hold a few days of clothes and a small one for supplies (pen/paper/toiletries) but I dunno if that’s enough.

I brought a duffel bag for clothes and toiletries, and I had a backpack for my general catalog and course list (which they give you at orientation.) Something for clothes and something else for binders, pencils, etc. should be fine.

And what about pillows/blankets? Not very portable…but the orientation website is vague.

I just got back from orientation. It will be helpful to bring a book bag or backpack if you do not want to carry the catalog around all day. Also, they provide you with a pillow and “blanket” (I thought it was a towel at first…), and towels for the shower.

Did most girls bring purses or backpacks?

Do you think we should bring our laptops? Like is there anything important we should absolutely bring? Oh, and the whole bathrobes thing… Especially for girls, is it better to bring a bathrobe or is it possible to change in the shower room? Thanks!!!

I saw some kids on their laptops. you can use them during lectures but you’ll be the only one using it out of 600 kids haha. They recommend you bring a laptop so they can register your computer but besides that you wont use it as much. There’s always something happening and by the time everything is over it’s around 11:30.

So which orientations on day 2 are possible to skip out on?

^ All of them except the sex education one.

aw yeah the rape lady. on the 2nd day if you go to the lecture you can’t leave… haha you have to stay the whole time. so you really can’t miss it. technically you can cause they only check you in for sex education

Rape lady? Oh boy, I’ll find out what you guys are talking about next week.

Only one of the lectures is mandatory, but they put it in the middle of all the optional ones. You’ll pretty much be in that lecture hall from 2.30 to 5.45 listening to them.
