Orientation

I just signed up for Orientation on June 8 and signed up for language testing/housing on June 7.

Since I'm staying overnight, my parents and I decided that they weren't going to participate in Parent Orientation.

Has anyone else done this? Would it actually be valuable for my parents to go to Orientation? It seemed a little silly to spend another $40 just so one of my parents could go.

And for anyone who has ever stayed in student housing, do you know when you can actually go to the room? I just don't want to be stuck in Columbia by myself for a few hours with nowhere to go. xD
