I was just wondering whether there is a deadline for signing up for orientation, I just realized today that many people have already signed up for it and I think they are getting the orientation info by mail which is a problem for me since I'm international. I'm planning on calling them tomorrow but I'm worried that I'll be forced to sign up for a session I won't be able to attend due to summer plans. I'd really appreciate it if someone could tell me whether there is a deadline and how I could sign up for orientation online because I can't find it, I'm in Revelle by the way.
Thanks for the help

Deadline to reserve an orientation session is June 8th

If you are unable to make any of the orientation sessions in the summer, there is always the option of moving in early and attend an alternate one day orientation.

were we supposed to have had received an email? o.o im in warren…so did warren just not start doing the orientation stuff yet?

I’m in Warren andI never received an email either. I think our orientation is different though; it’s like in late September after move-in, iirc.

Just check your college page, it should say there.

ok so I’m in ERC… i got the orientation email… and when i go to choose my dates im a bit confused …

like it says that in June anyone who applies for the june orientations can stay in the dorms, but in september, only those with the housing contract can stay…
Is september too late to attend orientation? and can someone explain the “commuters” schedule then, if you don’t stay over night.

is orientation really mandatory?! o.o

@fishygosplash
i know… i was thinking the same thing… i really don’t want to go to an orientation…

also anyone know how they do photo ID’s… i it just like high school, where you have to stand in a line nad wait your turn and bore yourself out???

@spatel The warren site said it is mandatory but also, I don’t mind…going to orientation…it actually seems kind of fun, but I do mind paying 200+ for it. If I choice, I definitely would not go. Doesn’t seem worth 200 bucks ya know? :/

@fishygosplash
my major problem is spending the night over in the dorms… i just don’t want too… since ill be commuting [and that’s my final decision] i really don’t want to spend a night in a dorm. I just don’t need an experience… I mean i have an apartment and all so yeah…
but yeah the price tag for going is too high… but it does cover the cost of food

But out of curiosity since it is mandatory i think… when are you planning to go… I’m planning to go in september [the last session] but it’s just because i don’t want to spend the night at the dorms… otherwise I would be getting it over with first thing…

@spatel
You’re commuting? If you’re commuting, I don’t think you sleep at the dorms that night? There were two prices: dormers (for the year) pay 200+ and commuters pay 100 something.
I think if you commute, you go to orientation, but you go home to where ever at night.

And warren only has one date, and it’s in sept. its like the 14-15 or something. give or take a few days. so yeah im going then :P

yeah you don’t… but it’s only in Sept. if you go to the June orientation, i believe you have to sleep in dorms…

ooooh i see i see. i reread your earlier post and i see you already said that xD

ugh I’m having more orientation issues, I can’t find the time when orientation session one ends and i need it urgently since I have to book tickets, please help :/

Hey,
hope this helps:

good luck!

So, how does this work? I’m in Warren, and the date is September 14-16, and it says you have to pay $93 for housing during those days, but when do I move in then?

@Adamantoise
September 14 -----Move-In Day for entering freshmen with housing contracts

Well, yes, I see that. I’m just asking for clarification on why they need to charge you $93 for housing when I thought it was included in the first quarter bill.

Charge is for moving in before the the first day for the Fall quarter housing - September 17th
