Hey what orientation did everyone sign up for? I did the IV one: August 21-23

I signed up for the same one--I'm coming from Washington (state), so it doesn't make sense to make an extra trip in the summer.

yeah Im registered for the one the july 12

Session One! It's gonna be a blast.

session one with her^^^^ + like 90 facebook people :-D

I'm session 1! As I live in Ohio, it's not an inconvienance to come up twice at all. :p

crap, so I just paid for my orientation, and in it it says I'm enrolling into three sessions. My last transaction before payment was Enroll Session: Summer Session I, but before it it says I'm enrolling into two other different sessions which I did click but don't want to go to. Anyone know what's up with that?

Try going back to the screen here

I'm goin first session....I live in NY but I'm flyin down for the first session and takin a couple days off from work and then before school starts at the end of august my whole familys driving down :D

Is it better to go sooner before all the classes are full?

sebma...yes.

Are you a student?

I'm a current student... I went to the last orientation my freshman year (2004) and didn't have problems getting into the courses I needed. Because I came in with AP credits, I was ahead of the typical freshman (and taking some soph. level classes or classes typically taken in spring of freshman year). I was unable to get into one course, but it really was not a big deal. I would consider trying to go to an earlier orientation if you are in a humanities major (the humanities classes are often smaller and could possibly fill up), but it is probably not a big deal even then.

At least when I was a freshman, they had already split up the class somewhat. I was assigned to take the freshman english course in the spring. I'm not sure how that has changed with the advent of SAGES, but I assume that they still do this to some extent.

sebma, yes, i am a student, one year younger than Ctheflute. with SAGES, you don't take a freshman english course anymore, SAGES will meet that requirement. there were few topical first semester seminars, and the slots are split up among the orientations, but that would be only..4(or 5) slots per orientation, so most of people will get into the main freshman seminar. as for classes that may get full, keep in mind that labs are not split up between orientations, they are first come first serve. for smaller classes, you do need to really look and see if it would be advantageous for you to attend an earlier orientation. you can check class slots out at the searchable schedule: https://my.case.edu/portal/page?_pageid=42,1&_dad=portal&_schema=PORTAL

hey does anyone know what the difference between the courses intro to organic chem and organic chem is? thanks

o-chem is usually filled with chem/chem eng(i think) majors, probably biochem majors too. intro is usually filled with bme/pre-meds/anyone else.
