We are new to the MT world, so TIA for any guidance!
My daughter has an audition for a pre-professional company next week. Her voice teacher gave her a copy of the cut to use, but I think she’s required to bring a full copy that’s marked. Her teacher told her she could buy the full music on musicnotes.com, so I’m planning to do that. My question is: I know that she will need original copies for college auditions- do these count? And how do I prove that I have printed them legally at auditions?
When you buy a download from MusicNotes, it will say somethings like “this copy authorized for TXMTmama” on the bottom of every page, so it will be clear you paid for it properly.
You actually don’t need original copies for college auditions. Many years ago OKCU required that, and I believe it’s required at NATS competitions and maybe vocal performance program auditions. But photocopies from anthologies/vocal selection books/scores or pdfs printed from online purchasing or other digital versions are all you need. No one will ever ask you to produce the original copy or any other proof that you paid for the original copy.
