My Cal Grants still have not been paid, and it is saying that I owe several thousand dollars which the Cal Grants are supposed to cover. Is it time to start freaking out, or at least to start calling the financial aid office?

I would call the financial aide office and deal with them ASAP! Are you a Cal transfer? PM me if so…

Call the CSAC to make sure they actually agree that you have Cal Grants. Mine was inconsistent and I had to go into the fin aid office three times before they actually forwarded it to someone to get repackaged. Now it is, but is still going to take another week or more to pay out. But if in your case the Cal Grant is correct, all you can do is go in/call fin aid multiple times and ask for a supervisor because otherwise you will just get a student employee who doesn’t know how to fix it and will just tell you to wait it out and it will probably fix itself in a week or two. Actually make sure it is in the hands of someone who can change it.

Seems odd. My grants paid off my entire balance on 08/12. I suggest you give the financial aid office a call asap before you get slapped with a $150 late fee and a registration block.

I’m worried. Since my financial aid hasn’t been paid, my Reg fees are overdue, which means now I have a registration block. The site says that finaid won’t be paid unless all Reg blocks are clear so…***. I won’t have it by the time my classes start so I’ll be behind in reading cause I won’t have money for books. I looked at emergency loan stuff - has anyone ever done that? I’m going to plead with them on Monday but the emergency loan also carries the caveat of having no blocks and all fees paid…am I screwed?
