OU class of 2010

yea i better, my mom just got divorced so my income dropped dramatically and i would prefer to have a full ride just so i dont have to depend on her or my grandparents for money

Congrats!!

accepted to scripps (don't know if i'm going though) - i really love the gateway scholarship thing (im savin $6000). btw, im oos and when ppl ask me where i got accepted and stuff they always mistake OU for OSU... getting tired of telling them that OU is not OSU.

I wouldn't worry about it - it happens the same for a lot of universities. For example, University of Pennsylvania students gripe about similar issues (confused with Penn State) and many other schools. The point really is *Scripps School of Journalism is VERY well known and when it comes to job hiring, the people who need to know, will know. *

You'll be hard pressed to find a better quality education for that price as Scripps is a top 5 program in the country for Journalism.

You're so right WealthOfInformation.

I could have applied to much more prestigious universities, but I wanted one's strong in what I was going into. And hey, it's nice getting a big scholarship! :)

Exactly! :D

I also hate the ohio state thing but its worth it...

I agree! I don't know how many times I've told people "I'm going to Ohio University" and they ask me, "Oh, Ohio State has a good football team, don't they?" (And, often, this is despite the fact that I am wearing an "OHIO UNIVERSITY" sweatshirt, right in front of their face). Absolutely no one I know of has even heard of OU (with only two exceptions--a neighbor I talk to maybe once a year and some relative I've never who died a couple months ago met).
