Another thought: because this update is so user-unfriendly, I’ve spent a lot of time complaining here, when I could have been offering helpful advice to students.
Just logged in today for the first time since the reno. Oh my this is awful! Not user friendly! Can’t find the other forum areas where I would frequent - this shouldn’t be hard to do on a forum. Also, there are less posts per page by nearly half. With the old format there were 15 posts/page and now only 8 posts/page with the same amount of scrolling d/t the whole right side being taken up with so much wasted space. Other format was more streamlined with more information per width and length of page. Ugh!
Thank you to whomever suggested ad blocker. I had a piece of paper taped to the right side of my desktop. Most of the time I had it behind the screen but would flip it over to cover the video on the right side whenever I logged onto CC. I added Ad Blocker and the video is gone. 
How do high schoolers and college kids respond to the changes? More positive or less angsts? Just curious.
Something really annoying on both phone and desktop - having a ton of space under the comment box. I used to scroll down to the bottom to leave a comment but now there’s a whole bunch of useless stuff under it so I have to go searching on the page to find it. It’s obnoxious. No one wants to see “Recent activity” under the comment box. leave it somewhere else.
If anyone wants me you’ll have to pm me. I can’t find anything on this site.

I think someone just hit the nail on the head—this looks like Facebook where you can’t find anything
and is just an ego screen so who cares. But this site has helpful users with good info. It’s usefulness has been dismantled.
And who thought the post date should be at the bottom of a post? Guessing someone who never had a diary or got a written letter. Hopefully they get email though—and the date is at the top. I had to go check this wasn’t April 1.
@jym626 for some of us, if we make the font smaller, we’ll need a microscope. That’s one of the baffling things, why one’s is too big and another’s too small.
Btw, on my cell. I saw no notice jym named me, until I went to the 3 bars in the upper left.
Add to that, when scrolling in this thread, I landed in a completely different thread.
Perfetly stated - you nailed it - exactly how I feel. I use to feel part of a big community that I could see all around and bop over to another part of town anytime I wanted. Now I just sit on my porch with no view except what is right in front of me.
I miss the home page/menu option list with the long list of forums, now it contains like 5 to choose from. If people don’t see them, they won’t post; I fear participation on many will plummet.
Right now, displaying on the right side are two “Featured Discussions” re: Dickinson all the way from 2016 and 2007, respectively.
I wish they would have added a LOL button at the bottom, now that would be useful.
@rjm2018 Ya, I don’t know what the criteria is for “Featured” anything boxes/areas on this site, right now I have to believe it is just random and someone hasn’t worked up the algorithms/coding on those yet. Let’s hope.
I’m gonna move off this thread now and don’t want to have 34 CC bookmarks/favorites, so hopefully I can find it again in the next week or two.

I have to struggle to read the gray not black words.
They must think we are really old to make the font so big.
If the was the work of a major management consultancy group, it will at least (potentially) eliminate the worship of these fields as the anointed elite. Perhaps this whole redesign was an effort to eliminate IB and MBB placement stats as the “go to” arbiter for posters when debating the superiority school x over y. lol.

I know I posted earlier that the font was HUGE (or as POTUS would say, YUGE!), and got help as to how to make it smaller which I did. Well, honestly, it is now hard to read because it is pretty small added to the fact that the font is thin and grayish. Once I made it smaller, that annoying video appeared on the upper right of the page (even if I scroll). What I don’t get is others say that by using AdBlocker, the video goes away. I HAVE AdBlocker! I don’t get any ads. BUT that damn video will not go away. Suggestions? Maybe I should go back (if I can figure out how) to the HUGE font, which only let me see one post per laptop window. Then, the video was far down and only seen if I were to scroll to the bottom of the page. I guess I need to pick the best of two evils?
Well admins are getting “candid, authentic advice” — hope they listen to some.
It’s worse than I thought: on my phone (Android) it’s next to impossible to navigate. I thought it was bad on the desktop, “optimized” for mobile, but nope, not here.
I also need to know who agreed with me.
I will say that all this time I thought those were basketballs by members’ names, but now I am laughing and can’t get the image out of my mind that someone said it looked like a crotch view of a woman diving into a pool!
