out of calpirg

so i wanted to know if it was possible to get out of calpirg.
me and my roommate was on our way to rivera library when a guy literally ambushed us-__-
he wouldn't take no for an answer and just kept hassling us to sign
he made it sound like it was a glorious thing (and i'm sure they're doing lots of good) but at the time i was really irritated by the way the guy approached us.
i've heard story of how people couldn't get out of calpirg and i'm hoping that's not true

My friend got out of calpirg but it was after he finished the rest of the quarter, not sure if you can ask if you can leave in the middle of the quarter but try it anyways. How persistent was he?

Extremely persistent. Started from Coffee Bean to the Rivera Library, like he walked along with me and my roommate even after we said no and kept hassling us for about 30 minutes -_____-
Thanks! I’ll definitely try and see what happens

you should email vice chancellor for student affairs. get the address from website. write what happened and ask to investigate.

yea definitely will and tell my roommate to do the same. At least we’ll have two people instead of one person with the same concern

I know how exactly how you feel. I told the girl I was late to class and she followed me so I gave in because she told me it’s easy to leave and she did not EVER mentioned that they’d be taking $10 from me every quarter. So when I found out I looked up emails and such. Seriously I had to email 3-4 different people from the Ucr Calpirg site and their Facebook site. I actually Facebook message one of the people on the “committee” and she said she didn’t know what Calpirg is and she’s not part of that organization. What freaking bull crap. Her name was everywhere and I misspelled Calpirg but she obviously knew how to spell it. Then I decided okay since I’ve contacted two girls and they were well rude; I tried emailing this guy. He said he’ll take me off and sorry about everything. Then a quarter later wow… I was still being charged. Emailed that guy again and his email was no longer in use. I was mad at that point so I ended up emailing this guy from UCDavis I think and I was somewhat rude. But yea he told me sorry about everything blah blah I’ll remove you immediately and refund you the $10. I didn’t believe him until I see proof and WOW finally some action done and I am no longer part of Calpirg and they did refund that $10.So yea try emailing an asian guy from UCDavis on the UCR Calpirg fb site. And don’t try to be super polite cuz that didn’t work well for me. Just show your frustration lol and tell him what you had to go through. Cuz it took me a freaking year to get out of Calpirg and emailing crapload of people. I remember I tried calling but they weren’t available. Good luck. Be persistent lol.
