un-pledge CALPIRG?

as much as I would love to keep giving to them, i am barely making ends meet for rent as it is. ive been pledging calpirg since freshman year and i would like them to stop charging my CARS $6 every semester

anyone know how to do this?

Once you get in, you never get out.

…

That’s what she said.

are you ever serious XD?

seriously? man, thats ********-i should just never avert my eyes from straight ahead when im walking through sproul, i always feel guilty and end up signing and pledging things

Go and talk to one of the people who walks around asking for pledges. Presumably they can afford to drop a few people.

…I need to do this myself, actually, albeit for reasons more ideological than financial.

steel yourself. I’ve heard it’s a very difficult process.

That’s actually a fairly clever strategy…$6 is small enough that most people won’t care about it. Hell, the only reason I’m probably still going to go through with it is that I feel like giving them the finger over it. >.>

What’s also crucial to the strategy is that you don’t feel like you’ve lost $6 (only shows up on CARS) and it’s seemingly a hassle to cancel.

I think if you go to the registrar’s office you can fill out a form to cancel.

I was in the same position as you. Yes, I feel very scammed as they didn’t tell me I would be charged more than once.

There is no way to cancel what has already been charged. Just don’t pay the $6, and constantly email mybill@berkeley.edu to remind them to not put your payments towards CALPIRG.

Go to the CALPIRG office in Eshleman and tell them you want to be removed, so that you don’t get charged in the future. That’s all you can do. If you try to complain, CALPIRG reps will either laugh it off or say there’s nothing you can do.

thanks Fellow. I think I’ll try what you said.

I need to do this too. CALPIRG got me
