Out of State Chances?

Hi, I know there have been a lot of these, but does anyone have any insight into my chances? Particularly for (fingers crossed) Robertson?
Also, is there a separate application for the Honors college? I haven't been able to find one...

Do I have a chance? Thanks for your help!

have u gone to the website and looked at the profiles of the winners. that might help in looking at what they want.

i bet that you will get in. i would place your chances at like 80%

Thank you! Yeah, I did read those profiles to help me point my essays, and such... but I still have no idea! Anyone else applying for RS?

i did. my counselor's daughter won the scholarship the first year it came out and she told me that they look for people who see the bigger picture, more global outlook on society, people who look to mend and not break relations, really humanistic from what i gather.

they look for leaders, people who do community service, people who strive who excellence, pretty much people who strive for success in all areas.

I sent in the supplementary Robertson app last week. :)

What did you guys write about for RS? I wrote about an arts camp I teach at, Model United Nations, and an arts academy for developmentally disabled people, where I volunteer.

i wrote about tutoring children who were academically failing in elementary school, educating/speaking out about globalization and fundraising for victims of globalization, and being unable to understand art as a child but understanding it after taking art courses.

I wrote about playing handbells for my church choir, the "special feeling" I got when I used to go to sailing camp every year (it was a little more complicated than that, lol...it's hard to explain briefly), and playing softball.

Yeah, I definitely doubt I'm going to go anywhere with this...lol. Although I am considering applying to Duke, too, so maybe that'll help my chances?

well good luck to everyone. they only select like 30 ppl for this (15 from duke and unc). best of luck. so if anyone gets this then they are truly special.

Franklinbrown, did you participate in the Cherub program at Northwestern?

I was part of the journalism division.

Yes, I did! Ooh, journalism....
