Out of State Financial Aid

While they haven't actually given me an official financial package, but I do have the 'Need Calculation Summary' and when I click on the breakdown for the 'Estimated Financial Aid Budget' it shows that tuition and fees cost a little over 12,000...but out of state tuition is at least 22,000 - so I was wondering if any one else has noticed this, because I would think that they would factor in out of state tuition if I was an out of state student for financial aid.

Thanks for any responses.

oh they definitely do. i have to pay little under 14000 so they should give me 22000 in aid since it actually costs 36000 to go there

OM, I think it’s listed by the semester – 12K+ tuition per semester, OOS.

Flinty you’re right, I was looking at the page on my tiny phone screen and didn’t see the Spring breakdown. I feel silly now.

Thanks to you both anyway!

And if you care, they calculated that attendance was around 38,000 - but I don’t know if that number is different for every one.

The 38K figure was the same for my daughter, so I guess that’s the same for everyone (as it should be!) Having the cost, the FAFSA “EFC” and then the “amount needed” all listed makes it look as if they are on the verge of filling in what aid you can expect … but the blog today said that it will just be sometime by early April.
