I'm not really sure if I should be asking this question here or on the William & Mary thread....We realized that the Monroe Scholarship my son got is for summer research etc. not merit $ to help with tuition. My question is this: is W & M a school that is known to be generous with financial aid packages to out of state students or to VA residents only?

William and Mary only meets 82% of need on average (IS&OOS combined). For comparison purposes, UVA meets 100% of need. So, no, I would not consider W&M to be generous with FA to IS or OOS students. I don’t know how IS vs. OOS breaks down.

See section H (H2 specifically) for W&M FA info.

W&M is not known for being at all generous with OOS financial aid.
