Out of state students paying in state tuition??

I've heard that there is an out of state waiver that OOS student could apply for? has anyone been approved of this waiver?? or know anyone??

I also heard that if i were to apply as an independent and get a job during my years in washington then i could be counted as a washington resident?

OOS tuition is so expensive :(

To answer your questions:

No.

Not exactly… take a few minutes to read this:
[UW Residency - Establishing A Bona Fide Domicile](<a href=“Residency Requirements (Non-affidavit) - Office of the University Registrar”>Residency Requirements (Non-affidavit) - Office of the University Registrar)

You have to be financially independent for both the current and prior year.

Also, “Current guidelines require students who are enrolled for 7 credits or more a quarter must be employed at least 30 hours per week at a non-student job to overcome the presumption of educational purposes.”

Additionally, you need to get a DL/State ID, register your car, register to vote within 30 days of arrival

Establish a bank account in Washington

Live in the state 12 consecutive months as a legal resident

Basically they want you to prove you didn’t move here to go to school
