Out of State Transfer Question

I’m interested in going to the University of Arkansas but I’m in a wierd situation. I currently have been living in Gainesville, Florida for a year now, but before that I lived in Dallas, Texas.

I still have my Texas Residency and plan on keeping it because I have absolutely NO plans of becoming a Gator, Seminole or any of that nature. Nothing against FSU or UF, just am more interested in Arkansas.

I never really did that well in high school (a measley 80% average) but am doing well in the college I’m going too now and whenever it is time to transfer I would be getting close to 3.5-3.6 range.

I would be transferring in the Spring of '12 after I get my AA degree and am really good with essays, so assuming I keep a 3.5-3.6 GPA what would my chances to get into Arkansas?

And if I DO get in would I have the border-line state tuition thing it says on the site since I AM still a resident of Texas???

SilverKracker,
As far as I know- as long as you are a full time resident of Texas and have a 3.0 or higher transfer (collegiate) GPA, you should be eligible to receive the in-state tuition award. To make sure this is still current, I’d recommend talking to the academic scholarships office at 479-575-4464. I’m sure Mary or one of the directors would be happy to answer your question in detail.
