@Reallycoolshoes @Newtownunit
Thanks guys. I know I am just about there but I want my scores to be over the threshold, not just on the border. I just did a practice ACT Reading section and got 61/75 questions right. That’s about a 26 on that section. Hoping to get to a 29.
@jdschooled5
I’m not sure about the SAT scores, since my daughter was stronger in the ACT than SAT. I would imagine the cutoffs would be comparable, I just don’t know what a comparable score would be. Wish I could help you more! Good luck!
I think the SAT level was 2050
@Newtownunit @elitecheer Thanks! I also heard from someone that colleges i general give less money if you apply EA? true? Just wondering
@jdschooled5 I actually heard the opposite of what you stated.
Really? When did they announce scholarships? Was it after EA or after RD? @NYIslekid
@jdschooled5 They announced scholarships with decisions 12/17 1st notification date.
My d’s portal was updated today and shows a full OOS tuition waiver on the details page. She was just admitted with today’s announcement, FYI.
@W2BeHome, would you mind sharing your daughter’s GPA and test scores (ACT/SAT)? Thank you and congrats to her!
I would be ok with a PM.
Is it possible to be awarded a partial or full tuition waiver as an OOS transfer student? I have a 3.6 right now, but I never took the ACT. Could I take the ACT now and possible get a tuition reduction if I do well?
@juliefrmn call admissions and ask them. You don’t have much time! If you are transferring in fall you will have to take the April 18th ACT. My son is taking it in April…he asked if he could take the June ACT, as well, they said no…April is the last test for OOS waivers. BUT my son is a freshman for fall not a transfer. They are allowing my son to try for the OOS waiver even though he has committed! FSU is very fair!
This is a year later but wondering what your thoughts would for 31 ACT w/3.4 gpa applying for music school. If not full oosw then what to expect
I’m in a similar situation as you @mknott: 31 on the ACT and a 3.49 UW. I emailed the financial aid office, I’ll be sure to update with what their reply is.
@mknott - if you are accepted into the music school and you’re OOS, you will receive an automatic partial OOS waiver. With your ACT score, you might receive the full one, but I’m not sure the GPA is high enough.
Thanks @saxlady. I see some criteria on the site about 3.5 so we’ll see.
Family has had a vacation home in the state of FL for 30 years so it pains me to not be eligible (not resident) for in-state yet still have to pay the taxes.
Can i get oos tuition waiver if i apply regular action?
What do you guys think about 4.0 UW and 1350 SAT (taking ACTs tomorrow) 9/431 in class? I applied regular decision
this thread hasn’t been active in a while but hopefully, someone will be able to respond to this. I have a 31 on the ACT and a 3.8 weighted GPA with two jobs, clubs, school organizations, and 4 AP classes. I’m not sure what the superscore thing is or if that affects me at all, but what are your thoughts on what type of waiver I could receive?
@mctajord — there is a post at the bottom of the page "OOS Tuition Waiver - Stats Required " where someone received from Admissions that a 30 was required for full OOS waiver and a 29 for half-waiver for Fall of 2017; along with weighted GPA of 3.5. Superscore is when they take your best Math score from all sittings and your best English scores from all your sittings and add them together to come up with your cumulative score. Will be higher for a lot of people who have taken the test multiple times; over individual score from one sitting.
