The majority of Tulane students travel an average of 900 miles to study at Tulane. It is not a state university. If you have an excellent essay, completed the “Why Tulane?” essay and have a good recommendation you will probably be accepted EA. Your GPA is good, the ACT is on the low side for Tulane. Good luck!

Agree with DebmomNY. You may want to take the ACT one more time to see if you can bump it to a 30. Also, learn as much as you can about the school and make the case to the admissions committee that Tulane’s programs will fit integrally in your future career plans. Be as detailed as possible. If you have to send something supplemental, go for it. Also, feel free to be creative in terms of an interdisciplinary approach involving dual majors. The school loves that sort of thing. Best of luck to you!

In state vs. out of state will not matter because Tulane is a private university. I think showing interest is an important part that a lot of students overlook. It’s definitely great that you met your admission counselor in person but have you followed up with them via email at all? They meet so many students in person it also helps to introduce yourself in writing. Best of luck!

Ya I knew about the out of state part, I just forgot to change it because I copied and pasted this from another college I posted about, but thanks these have all been very helpful!!
