out of state

Can anyone tell me what the process is to reclassify as in-state student?

Unfortunately, the state of Florida makes it impossible to do so if you are a full time undergrad who moved here for educational purposes, unless your parents move here and live here for a year. The only other way to do it is to take a year off of school, work full time, have a lease in your name, a power bill in your name, your driver’s license, voters registration and vehicle registration in the state.

As a grad student, if you move here, live here for a year, have a lease in your name, a power bill in your name, get your driver’s license, voters registration and car registration you can get in-state tuition for your SECOND YEAR and beyond.

you may also classify as like temporarily in-state if you have pre-paid college. Otherwise you have to go through so many processses that take a long time like sunnyflorida mentioned

Incoming freshmen who do the FSU First Year Abroad program are eligible for in-state tuition for the next three years.

You have to keep a 3.0 to get in state institution if you do your first year abroad.
