I also think Admissions knows about OOS high schools. I know from last year, and a conversation I had with a dean, that UT was looking to expand their population from Northeast, and California. My Daughter was the first student from her HS to attend UT ever. There were virtually no applicants in prior years. They knew of her HS. It is a top public suburban HS in the LA area. This year(current HS seniors) 8 kids applied to UT. We are aware of 7 who got in. 4 are going to round up next week. I do believe that Admissions accepted them, knowing they were from a good school, and saw an opportunity to further their goal of getting more So. Cal. Kids.

This is a long winded way of saying that admissions are savvy. They do know about different HS’s, and perhaps target students from them.

Pierrechin, I agree with some of the above posts, you do seem to have a chip on your shoulder.

idk because their are so many good schools in the U.S. but i do agree with the whole California thing, their probably is a specific number of kids they are aiming to get from Cal. but to tell you the truth i really dont see why people pass up their State flagship school for UT? imo if i lived in Cali i would probably be better off going to USC or UC, i figure if you want to work in your hometown why not go to school their? but im guessing its the opposite lol/ i dont see them just targerting kids from school “A” though but your right, school “A” may give some kids an advantage/ but i dont think they just specifically target school “A”

and i dont have a chip on my shoulder, UT CAPD me and im over it , looking forward to the future not worrying about what happened in the past. and I only wanted to go to UT because i like their football team, so i really didnt need to be their anyway/
not really a reason for picking a school lol kind of stupid when i think about it
