If UF is ranked 39th in selectivity then why is it only ranked 47th?

Joe,

We are only ranked 47th because selectivity is only one of seven factors that US News uses to determine rank. For example our Endowment, Alumni Giving, Student to Faculty Ratio, and Peer Assesment Score need to improve to become a Top University. I am confident that UF's administrators are working to improve all of them, but it will take time.

So, you dont think that # 47 is a top university? I guess why go to UF? May as well go to Santa Fe CC then, right?

"So, you dont think that # 47 is a top university? I guess why go to UF? May as well go to Santa Fe CC then, right?"

Who is this being directed at?

you

"Student to Faculty Ratio, and Peer Assesment Score need to improve to become a Top University."

I think the University of Florida is outstanding. If I did not then why would I post so many articles all over CC to show how things are improving? I am a very concerned alumni that feels that we are on the verge of becoming one of the best public universities in the country. In due time, it's not inconceivable that we become the University of Michigan of the south. But it's important that we are grounded in the reality of the situation that we are currently in. We need to take off our Orange and Blue goggles sometimes and really try to look at how we can improve as a research university.

Clearly you wouldn't undertand because you didn't go to UF for your undergrad.

thanks for the insult, chief
