Outcomes for Graduate School

Are there current or former students who would want to comment on the outcome for Graduate School admissions? It seems lower than at some other LAC.

Would anyone want to comment on the mentoring provided for applying to graduate school and scholarships?

For what it is worth son graduated in 08 with an accounting degree from Elon. Was easily hired at Dept. HHS in Phila. worked 2 years and now going to Boston College for Law School. Elon prepared him well!

Thanks for the info addismile. I was just looking at the 2008 outcome report and it looks like 23% went to graduate school after graduating. This was lower than another LAC my son was looking at which says 48% of their grads go directly to Graduate school.

I am not saying that is necessarily a good or bad - but just food for thought.

Lots of Elon students don’t fit the professional student profile and end up doing something before going on to grad school, including

Elon named a top school in annual Peace Corps rankings - Other graduates serve in AmeriCorps VISTA, Teach for America, and other local, national, and international non-profits.

I don’t remember where I found it but I remember that 85% of recent Elon students expected to eventually attend graduate school.

My daughter is graduating this year and has been accepted at 3 graduate schools. I think her experiences at Elon really helped out. She has been able to do research and has been a TA for several semesters

I know a senior who got accepted to Georgetown for graduate school. I don’t know enough seniors to say more than that though.
