<p>"Location" is often given as the reason for the preference. After all, Cambridge/Boston is recognized as the nation's #1 college town. </p>

<p>Palo Alto doesn't make the list.</p>

<p>Yes, I don't think of Palo Alto as a college town. It's been my home for 12 or so years. I'm sure that if I had been applying to school as an east coast applicant I would have dashed this instant to California. Anyways, change is good!</p>
