Overnight Host Program

hey Oscarg1, when did you rsvp’ed?
i’m quite jealous of you, but do have fun! =]

I RSVPed at 7 or 8pm that night and still got the “we are sorry” status… I was really looking forward to flying free and staying in the dorms. =(

maybe we can hold Oscarg1 hostage and take his spot :)

I RSVPed immediately after logging in and seeing info about the program. I logged in about 5 minutes after the site was up. ^ good luck with that

I too RSVP’d as soon as I saw the info for the program. Glad to see I’m not the only one that didn’t get offered a seat. Looked like a really good program. Probably won’t get to see Cal until August now ):

I just got an actual email confirmation about my itinerary, so I guess I’m in? Yay!

Well…I did need a major pick-me-up.

YAY!!! i just got an email saying i am in the program…however it last for three days long, its called the bridges senior program!! =DDD…so excited…
i signed up on friday, im suprised there was any spots left, YAY!!!

Got an email confirmation today! Looks like I was just jumping to conclusions and not realizing that “we are very sorry” letter was actually them saying it’s too late to RSVP anymore… xD I’m so excited! :D

^___^ Super excited. Can’t wait to see Cal again. I just got the e-mail too with my flight info.

Yay… Just got my flight info too (LAX)

I know this is a stupid question but, where do we sleep? On the floor? or in a bed? Why are they asking us to bring with us a pillow and blanket?

I know it might sound silly, but this is the first time I’m going to an overnnight host program. And the first time i’m sitting in a plane since 1995  LOL

wait, if im reading the letter correctly, are we meeting a berkeley student at the airport, and then they will give you your flight tickets, and you depart to fly off to berkeley, correct?
correcct me if im wrong.

You guys are lucky. :frowning:
I RSVPed at 1 AM the night I got my acceptance and I just got an email saying I am on the waitlist because spots filled too quickly.

Pretty jealous of you peeps who RSVPed on Friday later than me but still got it.

well, not technically, i was offered a diff overnight stay program, its called bridges senior weekend, for three days, and i think it has more spots…i barely did it friday night.

Oh then we are talking about different programs. I have no idea what that one is. I see then. What’s that one?

Congratulations on your recent acceptance to the Overnight Host Program. We are pleased that you have chosen to participate in this exciting program, and we look forward to helping you enhance your knowledge of the Berkeley campus.
yay

Sorry I am so confused right now…I got a letter a month ago about the OHP and saying that I had to fill out an online survey and fax a waiver to a certain number, in order to participate, so I filled out the survey weeks ago but never got a reply. Then, on the website, it says that I have to mail (not fax) a waiver (which was different from the one I got) and $60 and RSVP on the MyEvents. Can anyone tell me which one I am supposed to do? And which email I can contact? Is there space anymore?

also, separately, there are 3 different emails that I “should contact” if I have troubles, which I found from 3 different official sources…does anyone know the actual email?

I got the free OHP, designated to the “poor” people.

The confirmation:

(Followed by an itinerary)

Hi! I’ll be one of the people hosting seniors in my dorm room (: Super excited to meet all of you! My host training session is tomorrow. Apparently you’ll be bringing sleeping bags and I’ll be loaning you floor space lol.

Be excited! :D

I got the one for poor folks too and it said that they’d mail our tickets to us.

haha I was worried once I saw bring sleeping bag or blanket and pillow, hopefully won’t be sleeping on the floor in a triple D:

For OHP you do sleep on the floor in a dorm. In fact, when I went as a hs senior, I slept on the floor of a triple with THREE other OHP attendants. So there were a total of six guys in the room.

and then we all had a orgy… jk but yeah that’s how it is. Berkeley doesn’t have vacant dorm rooms during the school year.
