Overnight Stay Dilemma

So, I just found out today that my parents have not renewed my passport and that they will not pay the expedited fee to get it renewed. Is there any way I can get a government issued ID by March 9? I just turned 18; is there any way I can just use a student ID? Is my only choice to cancel my request to attend (I have already received the email telling me that I have been accepted to the program)?

"---If you are 18 years or older, you will need a government-issued ID, such as a: Driver's License, Passport.

--If you are younger than 18 years old, a student picture ID will be accepted."

I think my friend used her student ID for a flight once. It worked but it was a lot of hassle. The airport had to call the school to confirm her ID.

Where are you from?

If it’s within the US, I’ve always just used my driver’s license and it works. I assume an ID card from the DMV will serve the same purpose. However, it can take up to 60 days for them to send it to you.

Call the airline and see what they say, I guess.

I’m pretty sure you can get a government issued idea if you just go to the DMV with proof of your birthday and w/e and then they send it too you. Not sure how long it takes to be made but you might get a temporary one in the meantime.

Thanks for all the help.

I am from California and a state license takes 60 days to process. Also, I can’t drive yet.

Do you think a birth certificate would work? isn’t it also a government issued ID?
