Hi, all.
I am very, very interested in Princeton, and am considering applying there ED this coming fall/winter. I feel that an overnight stay would help me make my decision, as I could observe what student life was like, classes, dorms, etc.
However, on the website, it is not explicitly stated that you can do such stays through the Admissions Office. I will call tomorrow, but I was just wondering:
does anyone know if this is possible? Has anyone stayed overnight at Princeton before? Does anyone know anyone at Princeton who would be willing to informally host a complete stranger (I'm not crazy or anything, I promise)?
Thanks!

It's definitely possible, as a freshman last year people on my hall hosted pre-frosh at various times throughout the year.

do you know if they were just friends visiting or if they were "official visits"?

They were official visits, because no one knew them prior.

Try contacting this person who is on PEF staff.
Perhaps she can arrange something.

Okay, so I called the Admission Office and they told me (kind of rudely, I might add) that they don't do overnight visits.
Also, I'm Jewish, so I don't think I want to stay with the PEF.
Any other ideas?
Anyone have connections?
Thanks for your help so far, btw!

Perhaps someone in the Center for Jewish Life might help.

My son arranged an overnight in the winter of 04 by contacting the head of a department in which he is very talented (either music, dance, vis-arts, etc.)

Also the Humanities Symposium is held once a year.

You might have to email admissions to get the schedule.

I'm on the Peer Admissions Links Executive Board, so going through us is a good way to get around the Admissions Office (but I certainly didn't tell you that...). I PM'd you with my e-mail address, so just send your info, interests (academic, extracurricular, and otherwise), and I'll do my best to find a good host for you.
