Overnight visit

What exactly is included in the overnight visit? I'd like to go on an information session for both the entire university, and Weiss. Also, on the site it says that it starts at 5:00PM, after all the activities you sleep over obviously, but is there anything planned for the next day or are you free to leave in the morning? And finally, if you arrive at like 12:00PM ish, do you have to stay in a hotel or can you go to Rice and "check in" to your visiting dorm?

Thanks-any info you have to offer about the overnight visits are much appreciated.

I’m an overnight host, so I can tell you what is involved in an overnight visit.

An overnight visit is not really structured or scheduled, and it is done that way on purpose. Rice admissions wants you to get an accurate portrayal of life on campus. The host will show you around campus; you will also eat with him/her as well. You are free to go to any of the classes. You can leave whenever you want the next day. There will probably be time for you to go to an information session as well.

If you arrive early, let the Admissions Office know ahead of time, so they can let your host know.

Hope this helps. I would call the admissions office if you have any more questions.

Bring a sleeping bag and an airmattress, unless you know that your host has a couch or something that you can sleep on…
