overrated?

I heard Fordham is overrated...
True or false?

Lol...
If anything it's underrated.

Anyone who has had the benefit of a Jesuit education, whether it's in high school or college, will tell you that it can be a defining part of their lives.

where did you hear it was underrated? sources of comments like that matter

You should review your sources about that. Attend Spring Preview or one of the Class Visit Days to get a feel of either campus to be sure. You shouldn't rely on personal prospectives.

How is a jesuit education so beneficial?

Whether Fordham is "under" or "over" rated is truly relative.

My son goes to a martial arts school that is about 1 1/2 hours away from Fordham. He's been doing it for quite some time and is good friends with those in the adult class. Fordham was one of his early acceptances, and when he told them at this school about it, he was enthusiastically congratulated by everyone. In the past week or so, he had found out that he was accepted by Brown. When he told those at the school about this acceptance, he received a more diminished response - evidentially they were much less familiar with Brown's reputation and where it ranks on the pecking order of schools.

So...what am I trying to say...college ratings and rankings are relative and matter only to whatever group of individuals you're trying to impress. You choose what group you want to work with, associate with, and enjoy life with. Schools tend to attract a certain mentality just as neighborhoods tend to do the same.

College is going to be your "neighborhood" for 4 years and you need to like who your neighbors are going to be. If you like your "college" neighborhood, then it doesn't matter if your college is considered the worst in the US, you'll still have a good time. But if you can't stand who your college peers will be, you can go to the #1 ranked college and you'll still hate it. Just "food for thought".

As far as "the benefits of a jesuit education," well I'm a product of such an education - this is how I look at things in life (for better or worse).

Thanks for the response
