hey guys,
has anyone scheduled an interview with an alumni yet? I was looking through the harvard website, and it says that you should email them so receive a list of alumnis... so, I did that, but only got a computer response that said that overseas interviews will not take place unitl october 29th... but I never got that list, so now I dont know how to schedule an interview without that list... does anyone have it?

You will be contacted for an interview if they decide to call you for one. What country do you live in? Interviews depend on location. Some countries have so many alumni that they are able to conduct interviews with every applicant. Other countries have so many applicants (e.g. most countries in Asia, lol) that they're unable to conduct interviews with everyone, but only with those applicants who are most promising for admission. In those instances, interviews will usually take place in late winter. Three students from my school were interviewed by H -- if I remember correctly, the interviews took place in late February/early March.

um... I'm applying early, so I think it should take place in november?? well... it says on their website that non-US students should initiate contact with an interviewer, not the other way around... thats why they have an interviewer list, so you can contact an alumni...

That's fine, my bad -- I was thinking in terms of RD.

Anyway, like I said, interviews depend on what country you live in. I'll ask again -- what country do you live in?

Email them and request the overseas alumni list again. If I remember correctly, there's a specific subject line you have to type in to get the list of alumni. And anyway, it's only freaking July. The early app isn't even due until November 1. If I were you I would wait until late August at the earliest.

well... its an automatic response, so requesting it again didnt really work... oh btw... I'm from Germany... and I kno its probably a bit early but I just wanna make sure that I have plenty of timi for everything

Obviously my meaning isn't coming across clearly.

What I am saying is that you are probably requesting all the info TOO EARLY. The admissions office only finalized the class (with waitlists, z-list, etc.) a few weeks ago. They likely haven't had time to update the alumni list and thus it probably isn't available yet.

HENCE, my suggestion to wait until August. OK?

As to Germany, I think you should be fine in obtaining an interview. So try again in late August. If it doesn't work (but it should, because it worked for me), call the admissions office and explain that you live overseas + need the alumni list for an interview. They will help you out.
