Interviews - is it supposed to take this long to schedule??

I submitted the commonapp, Harvard supplement, etc. in late November. According to the application check, all required materials have arrived. But I still haven't received any contact from an interviewer. I'm only worried because I live near NYC, so I can't imagine that there isn't an alumni interviewer here, and people on this forum have said they already scheduled/had their interviews when they submitted their apps after me.

Is there anything I should do besides waiting? Thanks!

I applied mid december and got an ID code and interview called my house within a week. Your location may come in to play for interviews… if you have high concentration of alumni in your area, it might be faster

Interviews still will be being scheduled in March. When you get an interview depends on the availability of alum interviewers, and does not depend on how impressed Harvard was by your app. There are far more applicants than there are alums who are willing to take their free time to interview applicants.

Thank you both for your quick replies. I actually hadn’t been worrying that this was some sort of secret message from Harvard - I just wondered if I was supposed to contact them first, and I was waiting, or I had mistakenly forgotten to check a “Yes, I want an interview” button.

Applicants living outside of the U.S. and Canada have to contact Harvard to get an interview. There’s info about this on the international applicants part of Harvard’s admissions iste.

bsDBer: don’t worry, I’m in the same boat :stuck_out_tongue: I don’t think we missed anything, just that maybe since it’s RD and decisions don’t come out until April, interviews can be delayed somewhat

FYI

An alumni interviewer called me today, and I scheduled for the 29th. Thanks for reassuring me while it lasted :)

grrr. jealous ^^
send some of that good luck my way, please ;)
