Greetings all. As you may have noticed from my location, I will be attending Claremont McKenna College in the fall. I have recently become enticed with the idea of attending a university in the UK. However, I have several questions.

I will be attending a US college for my freshman year. I realize that Oxford does not accept transfers. As such, if I do end up at Oxford/LSE, I completely intend on starting my course from the beginning like everyone else.

And now, the questions:

Would Oxford/LSE accept my freshman year of college in lieu of AP/SAT IIs? (I read something on the LSE website that indicated that they might.)

How important are high school grades if I am applying after my freshman year of high school?

Will Oxford/LSE mix and match SAT II and APs? For instance, I only took two SAT IIs but I will be taking several APs. Will they add these together to fulfill requirements?

Here are my stats:

SAT: 2340 (800 M, 800 WR, 740 CR)
SAT II: 780 Math Level II, 720 Chemistry
APs: Expecting 5's on English and Calculus (foolishly opted out of several APs for unrelated reasons)

I will most likely be taking the SAT II Literature just in case Oxford/LSE doesn't mix and match APs and SAT IIs. ** Assuming a score of 700+, what do you think my chances are at Philosophy, Politics and Economics at Oxford & Economics at LSE? **

I don’t think u can apply Oxford once you enroll into another uni. Even if you intend on starting all over. I too want to apply as freshman while being at uni, but all unis say that as soon as you matriculate at another school, you are a transfer applicant.

Here is something from the Oxford website:

Students are also welcome to apply to Oxford while they
are studying * at other universities * for a Junior Year Abroad,
or for a complete degree. ** However, Oxford does not accept
transfer students, so if you want to study for a full degree
at Oxford, you will need to start the course here from the
beginning. **

As a fact of matter, there are no restrictions whatsoever at Oxford or Cambridge as regards applications of students from other universities - you obviously can’t transfer, but you can apply to a course just like everyone else.

In the UK it doesn’t even matter if you have been enrolled anywhere else. You can ALWAYS apply to start at the beginning (transfers are rare, and impossible at many places). This includes Cambridge. But you cannot apply to Oxford AND Cambridge for undergraduate in the same year (a few exceptions including organ scholar, but if you play the organ I am sure you will know about this).
