I'm currently an American freshman. I'm in all honors classes (an exception with Spanish considering its my first year of taking it) & AP world history since its the only AP class available as a freshman. I was just curious how the whole admission thing rolls in UK universities because I know it's quite different. Do they even look at my GPA? What do they primarily look for?

Start by using the search function on this board. GPA mostly irrelevant. ECs irrelevant. All they want to know is are you a clever and focussed student. Being “well-rounded” has no value. You have to choose a “course” to study on application and it is difficult to switch.

You apply through UCAS , linked below. I strongly advise you to make the effort to look up the entrance requirements for American students on the Oxford website, but basically high AP or IB or SATII scores in relevant subjects are needed.

Feel free to go right to the website for Oxford University and see for yourself. Remember that you will be considered a “foreign student”, so be sure to read the stuff for foreign students.

In theory, Oxford will take applicants from the USA who have three AP exams with scores of “5” in each one, but in practice it seems to need more than just three "5"s. You may want to just take any AP exam that you have a good shot at getting a “5”. Oxford will not be interested in any AP exam score of less than “5”.

GPA is irrelevant, as cupcake said. The courses you take in high school are also irrelevant (so it doesn’t matter that you are in “all honors classes”). They will want to see, through your personal statement and interview, that you really are someone that is willing to focus on a single subject for three years, and also that you are someone that they would like to work with in that subject. This is why they are not interested in extracurriculars that are not related to your subject, but they probably will be interested in any extracurriculars that do connect with your chosen subject. (Do you have any idea what major you are considering?)

Also remember that Oxford (like Cambridge) has extremely high standards and is extremely hard to get into. There are many other colleges and universities in the UK that may also be worth looking at.
