I just got my new PO Box address from Yale. Then is this my address while I'm living at Yale? (the one you can use on all your legal documents?)

Also, about the PO Box address: can the box receive large packages from for example Amazon.com or do I have to ship them somewhere else? I'm not too sure how the PO Box system works.

I'd appreciate any feedback from current Yale students.

Yes, you can use your PO Box as your address, though you can also use your home address. Certain sorts of things will require a physical address (registering to vote, for instance) for which you use your dorm’s street address.

For shipping packages: if shipped via the US Postal Service, a package can be sent to your PO Box. A piece of paper will be put in your box when the package arrives, which you can use to pick the package up at a service window in the Yale Station Post Office (under L-Dub, which is where your PO Box is located). But remember that only the USPS can ship to a PO Box (if you put a PO Box as your address for an Amazon order, or for most online retailers, they will ship USPS automatically, so this is only relevant if, say, your parents are sending you a package).

Thanks a lot. That answers a lot of questions.
