PACE students help. Or CAP

Must PACE students take Eng freshman year (can it be sophomore year)? 1 or 2 semesters?

Is an A- at ACC a 4.0 for UT?

Current CAP students, can you share experiences to these questions?

I’m pretty bad at writing essays and analysis and want to avoid Eng altogether–i.e. avoid impairing my gpa. Any suggestions, advice, insight, enlightenment is appreciated.

@punctiliouseye‌ current PACE student here; from my experience, the PACE program definitely has its flaws, but it is improving since it’s such a new program. Definitely worth it if UT is your dream school. At ACC, anything from 90-100 is a 4.0 on your transcript. If you are looking to get into engineering, you must take calculus I and II and engineering physics.

I heard that there’s a gpa calculator on Mystatus for transfer students into UT(which includes PACE students right?) that recalculates gpa into gpa for UT students and the recalculated gpa accounts for A- as 3.67 and A as 4.0.

I heard that PACE students can only apply for one major for their preference and a 2nd major in liberal arts-- is this true?
Also do you know anyone applying for chemical or mechanical engineering this year? I want some insight on their admissions status.
