These two schools were both my number ones (I’m looking to get my BFA). I was more drawn to the education a Pace U because their BFA Acting program and I really only auditioned for the New School because it was next door to my Pace audition. But the more I started researching the two I came to really love the two equally. I got accepted to Pace’s BFA Acting program, but got waitlisted from The New School for Drama. As I was waiting to hear back from the New School I began talking to everyone in my BFA Acting Freshman Class and my professors and really began to like all of them. However, I just heard back from the New School this morning and got accepted. I love the new age vibe of the New School and the freedom to do a lot of things (I want to continue with dance too). I know the program is better at Pace U and I really like everyone there. Could anyone weigh in on the programs pros and cons? Maybe some advice on what I should do? I’m very torn between the two.
ZaneFair, I waited to see if anyone was going to answer this. I have a child at The New School, it is not a traditional conservatory, which is a benefit to him. This program has allowed him to explore other sides of his creativity. To say the program at Pace is better is rather misleading. Both are very strong programs, you need to decide which one will be a better fit and will allow you to explore all you wish.
