Pacific NW BB Internship

I haven't started college yet and one of my connections says he can hand me a non-NYC internship at a BB firm. This summer will probably be meaningless (~3 week internship) but right after freshman year I can go back home and get started instantly.

I understand that a newly minted high school grad probably wont get much meaningful work handed to him, even more so because of the length of time available.

Any experience is valuable experience, but how do you think this'll improve my chances of eventually ending up in NYC?

It definitely won’t hurt you. To have an internship of quality so early will definitely give you a leg up on the other students applying for positions - essentially, you should be able to leverage this freshman summer internship into a better internship as a soph and then a solid SA internship as a junior (if not as a soph - since with some solid internship experience and a decent - semi target or better - school, you’ll definitely have some SA internship possibilities as a soph).

PM me if you have any other questions.
