paper application

I know colleges prefer the online application, but I feel better submitting them the paper application. I will have to send them extra materials in the mail anyways, so do you think this is ok? Or would it be in my best interest to satisfy them with an electronic submission.?

I am just so tired of running out of room in those stupid text fields, lol.

You have pretty much already said that you didn't want to do what the colleges prefer and that you needed to send addn'l stuff so why are you asking us again?? Do you need us to convice you of something which we didn't do the first time??

tawny, I am doing the same thing. The text fields are annoying, and it is so much easier to keep track of my applications when they are all right in front of me. :)

If you are running out of room perhaps you are including too much info.

This topic has come up in other threads and it is normally settled that you can do it either way.

The only reason they want the online application instead of the paper application is that they don't have to keypunch your basic info such as name and address if you apply online. If you apply online, they print the form at their end. This can help if you have bad handwriting. Then you mail the attachments separately and they assemble it into one package. I personally prefer assembling the app form and the attachments myself and then I know everything got there. It is also good if you want to write in the margins. For example, if you have seven SAT II's all in the high 700's, you can write them in the margin while the online form may only allow room for three of them.

Some colleges give you a break on the application fee if you apply online.

IF you have seven SAT IIs in the 700s then your score report will reflect it and you don't need to insert this yourself.

On a different note

Does anyone know if chapman university even has an online application? I registered and they only have a link to download the paper app.

The blanks on the application form puts everything up front. All of the scores will be on the CB score report, but they are somewhat hidden back there. Why else would they ask you to put your SAT scores on the app form? For that matter, your senior courses are on the transcript but they ask for them on the app form.
