<p>Hello everyone. I have to do the FAFSA through snail mail for special reasons, and I have a questions.</p>
<p>It says we can begin filing it starting January 1st. Since I can finish it before that, should I send my completed FAFSA on January 1st? Or can I send it say, some time before so that they don't get it two or more weeks after the 1st? What happens if they get it before the 1st?</p>

<p>It seems that the FAFSA in any form is not available for the coming school year. In my experience, you can’t file it until after Jan 1 because that’s the earliest date it is even on the site. If you look at the FAFSA.gov site, there is no option for the next school year. The current year is the earliest one available.</p>
<p>As Franglish said, the 2012-2013 FAFSA is not available before January 1st 2012. Completing te 2011-2012 one will not make you eligible for aid in the 2012-2013 school year, nor will it count as having met any deadlines. You have to submit the correct year’s form.</p>
<p>Please, please find a way to do your FAFSA online. It is so much better for so many reasons.</p>
