Paper vs. Online?

ROFLMAO - uh, what does that mean?

hahahahahahah

"Online apps cut off my essay at exactly 500 words."

WHAT!?

INJUSTICE! Tell me this isn't so!

On another thread, someone posted that their g.c. sends photos with the transcripts but they sent the WRONG photo with their transcript and it was NOT for the better.

So you are laughing your *ss off?

Sorry, didn't get it at first because I don't spend any time doing IMs - I'm too busy trying to fight world hunger.

If you think that is so funny - you should read the New Yorker thread about 'looks'. I can honestly say, I don't look like my peers (and that is a GOOD thing).

This is from another thread regarding hooks:

At ivy schools, being good looking helps somewhat. If you search a thread for history of HYPS, you will see that I am not joking.

So, if you've got it - use it.

btw - Brown requires a photo with your application.

Hey, it's worldshopper. :) I don't have any snide comments for you today, sorry.

My GC is kind of funny though; I guess she's old-fashioned, but she "doesn't trust those computers" and is more afraid of something getting lost or missent through cyberspace than through the mail. So I'll be submitting everything in paper.

I would think most schools prefer online, since it's less paperwork for them to potentially lose.

Some colleges are basically only online (the UC system). Other than them, I submitted everything on paper. I typed essays and wrote out everything else. I don't think that this made any difference in my admittance. The only difficulty I had with lost mail was with a teacher recommendation, which would have been mailed anyway.

Jimmy: You're a hoot!

like an owl

wow worldshopper, all i said was i thought it was funny and you start defending yourself with post after post, someone has insecurities...

I fail to see where I have tried to defend myself; I was just trying to be funny too. You read too much into my post. :)

lol thats such a lie

<<someone has insecurities...

And it doesn't take long to find out who that person is. In just two short posts; you have exhibited 2 characteristics of someone who has a P.D.

lol ok w/e

the vast majority of colleges prefer or encourage you to submit the online app. don't they?

and how do you submit recommendations online?...

LOL, worldshopper, you just sorta incite criticism, don't you? It must be difficult being you

mun: for most colleges, you don't submit them online. You mail them in while the rest of your app is electronic. Although I did hear of one college that has recently begun allowing teachers to email their recs.
