PARCC

Hi Everyone!

For people taking the PARCC, what does it dictate? Does it affect your BS admissions?

I took PARCC and it had no impact. Unless you want to send the results to the schools you apply, or have your counselor mention your scores in their recommendation.

Most boarding schools only require the SSAT, recommendations, and transcripts in terms of academics. Admissions officers probably might not want to see your PARCC results since they’ll have your SSAT.

Admissions officers will most likely not care for PARCC results. This is due to the fact that the percentiles are heavily skewed as its sample is much larger and diverse than the SSAT’s. Also, this is why you might score a 99+ on PARCC but only get an 85% on the SSAT. Simply use PARCC as a precursor the SSAT as well as keeping in mind the SSAT will be a bit more advanced compared to its counterpart. Hope this helps!
